Ergonomic Kneeling Chair-Sit For Very Long Hours In The Office Without Having Pain And Tension
You've probably seen those funny looking ergonomic chairs before. These are all about giving your body the proper sitting posture and proper lumbar support. This can help in keeping your own body properly supported so you could sit for long hours without feeling tired or getting a backache. Ergonomics is considered a type of science and all of the ergonomic chair designs derived from studies and research. But now there's a new chair that's edging its way into the market and it is the ergonomic kneeling chair.
When the concept was originally introduced, it didn't catch on as fast as the normal ergonomic chair. Some earlier studies regarding this sort of chair has shown that a kneeling chair is not ergonomic and it's no better than a normal office chair. But a later research that was done in 2008 has shown that a kneeling chair does help with long hours of sitting and it does give much more comfort to the sitter.
The basic idea of this chair is that you sit in a way that you angle your knee downwards and keep your toes pointing backwards. So it looks like you are kneeling down when you're praying. The seat of the chair angles downwards and pushes your own body forward like you are slipping. Then there's a knee rest that will help support the knee and stop it from slipping. Most of your body weight would still be supported by your own buttocks with some of the weight transferred to your knees. A few of the kneeling chairs do include a back support but most do not.
So the ergonomic kneeling chair design is actually quite minimalistic. There isn't any arm support or back support and there is a limit to its adjustability. Some types have wheels and some permit you to alter the height of the seat. So compared to an ergonomic sitting chair, the ergonomic kneeling chair is so much smaller. In fact, the whole space taken when you sit on the kneeling chair is much less than sitting on a normal chair.
What does all this mean?
A good ergonomic kneeling chair is not really designed for a normal stress-free day at home or when you wish to unwind in front of the Television. The kneeling chair is meant for office use since it keeps the sitter's back forward and it minimizes space usage. The kneeling position gives the sitter sufficient comfort and support to let him work for long hours without feeling exhausted. He can also stretch himself easily because there is lots of space to maneuver about.
So the next time you want an ergonomic chair that offers you comfort but still lets you deal with the task on hand, the ergonomic kneeling chair could be a viable option.
Different Types Of Kneeling Chairs For Better Performance At Workplace
Some office chairs have ergonomic designs that will help maintain your body posture and distribute your weight to other parts of your body. An example of an ergonomic chair is the kneeling chairs. These are not your typical ergonomic chair because instead of sitting, you are kneeling on it.
